The research is part of new nearly $2M partnership project between the University of Washington’s College of the Environment, the UW Applied Physics Laboratory and Paul G. Allen Philanthropies.
We’re grateful for those putting in the work to reconcile humanity with climate change, from scientists and politicians to motivated movers and shakers. We know our limits though, and know our best way of helping will be to stay out of the way…

In this study, we found widespread somatodendritic labeling for TRPM4 throughout all cortical layers, with an enrichment in layers 2/3 at early postnatal ages, and becoming more uniform across the layers after age P35. The TRPM4 immunolabeling we observed in the mPFC is generally consistent with the cellular pattern of TRPM4 mRNA expression in the Allen Brain Atlas (Allen Institute for Brain Science, 2017b), which shows a moderate and widespread neuronal expression in the frontal cortical area.
The subcellular pattern of TRPM4 immunolabeling in mPFC neurons presented here is similar to that shown previously (Kim et al., 2013) in cerebellar lobe IX Purkinje neurons, where TRPM4 immunolabeling was also confined to the somatodendritic region, with no apparent signals in the axon…

In 2015 competition for the Smart City challenge was drawn. During the middle of 2015 different states sent their own nominations for the Smart City challenge. Subsequently in the next few months the Ministry of Urban Development selected 100 of those cities to participate in the competition.
